What is Reiki?
In Japanese, Reiki can be broken down into two parts: rei (spiritual) and ki (energy). Together, it translates into “universal life energy” or “spiritual energy.” Everything has energy – our bodies, animals, plants, buildings, even the furniture and electronics in our homes – and energy is infinite. When we experience trauma, painful events, or any other type of emotional hardship, we store the associated emotions in our bodies. Without energy work, our energetic bodies become dis-eased. As your Reiki practitioner, I channel life force energy from my hands to your energetic channels helping move “stuck” or “stagnant” energy thus promoting your body’s own self-healing abilities.
What Can You Expect From This Session?
During the session, you will be guided through a series of breathing exercises to ground you into a relaxed meditative state. Using deliberate hand movements and techniques either on or a few inches away from the body depending on your personal preference, I will connect to your energetic field and channel healing energy to help clear blocks and remove stagnant energy, and infuse the body with high vibrational energy and light.

What Can I Expect During An In-Person Session?
Sessions are done in Micaela’s Healing Space on a massage table. Each session includes time to review health history, answer questions, approximately 60 minutes of energy healing, and 15 minutes of integration at the end to review what came up during the session and discuss ways to integrate and maintain healing.
During the session, soothing music will be played and you will be guided through a series of breathing exercises to ground you into a relaxed meditative state. You will then experience hand placements either on or a few inches away from the body depending on your personal preference. Focusing on the chakras and specific areas needing attention, I will connect to your energy to help clear blocks and remove stagnant energy.
What Can I Expect During A Distance Session?
Remote sessions are performed exactly as an in-person session. The only difference is they are performed over Zoom and the healing energies are sent through time and space through visualization exercises. It is recommended that you find a comfortable quiet space where you will not be disturbed. Headphones are also recommended.
Throughout the session, you may experience warmth or coolness, tingling, or vibration sensations throughout your body. You may also fall asleep or go into a meditative state where you experience the sensation of being aware of your surroundings but not mentally present. Some clients have reported seeing colors, visions, or receiving messages. We are all unique in how we process information from our higher selves and the Divine. Trust that whatever sensations you experience, it is all occurring for your highest good.
How Can I Prepare For My Energy Healing Session?
- Pick a time for your session where you will be able to relax and decompress afterwards. Integration of your experience is key!
- Set an intention for your session. What is that you are wanting to heal or release? Are there patterns you want to let go of? Chakras you want to focus on? Intentions can be physical, emotional, mental, spiritual or a combination of all of these.
- Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing.
- Make sure to drink water prior to the session as your body will be working hard to clear energy. It also recommended to avoid alcoholic substances and recreational drugs before and after your session.
Are Long Distance Sessions Just As Effective As In-Person Sessions?
Long Distance sessions are just as powerful as in-person sessions. Because the focus of the session is on clearing and healing the energy body and we know that energy travels, you will receive the same life force energy as you would in an in-person session. In fact, many of my most profound sessions have been via distance because it allows me as the energy practitioner to go into a deep meditative state during the session.

While you may feel profound relaxation and results with just one session, consistent energy healing sessions are recommended for optimal results. Every day we come into contact with others that may affect our energy or experience situations that cause emotional and mental distress. Like any self-care regimen, routine energy sessions help ensure you are maintaining a vibrant and clear energetic field. You may also experience more profound effects the more sessions you do.
